"Skin Needling" also known as "Needle Dermabrasion" or "Tattoo Without Pigment"  is a process whereby a tattoo machine is used to break up scar tissue. This is a relatively new procedure and is generally performed by either a Tattoo Artist or an Aesthetician/Esthetician. If you are considering having this procedure done, I suggest that you consult with and select someone who is experienced in doing the procedure.

I did not apply a topical anesthetic before the procedure. The procedure was slightly uncomfortable, not at all unbearable. Afterward, it felt like a sunburn and the areas needled became red and slightly swollen. I applied Polysporin on the first day, and Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Concentrate Capsules on the second and third days. I continued with my normal skin care routine after that. The redness and swelling subsided within about 3 days. I bled only slightly, and didn't scab at all.

From the information I have read, approximately 80% of collagen remodeling takes place within 8 weeks, therefore I have chosen to update at least 8 weeks after the procedure. In my estimation, I have received some improvement but I do not think that percentages are indicative of the results. This is the primary reason that I have documented my results, so that the viewer may come to their own conclusions.

Note: I cannot guarantee that the lighting/angle of my face is exactly the same in each photo - Ambient light may vary.  These were my results from having the procedure done and I have no way of knowing what yours or someone else's results from having the same or similar procedure done might be.

This procedure was performed by Judy Ferguson of New Innovations, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
